Sona Nanotech Inc C.SONA

Alternate Symbol(s):  SNANF

Sona Nanotech Inc. is a nanotechnology life sciences company that has developed multiple methods for the manufacturing of various types of gold nanoparticles. The Company is engaged in the research and development of its technology for use in multiplex diagnostic testing platforms and biomedical applications. Its gold nanotechnologies are adapted for use in applications, as a safe and delivery system for multiple medical treatments, for the approval of various regulatory boards, including Health Canada and the Food and Drug administration (FDA). Its gold nanorod particles are manufactured without the use of CTAB (cetyltrimethylammonium), eliminating the toxicity risks associated with the use of other gold nanorod technologies in medical applications. The Company leverages its core proprietary gold nanorod (GNR) manufacturing technology and laboratory assets to focus on the development of diagnostic tests and biologic reagents, and the advancement of its GNR intellectual property.

Right on whatdoiknow123 ..  Using Sona's GNR's in it's covid test is just one aspect of the nanotech industry... so much more to look for!  I wasn't expecting any name drops, just wonder if they talk about a test kit using GNR's to test for Virus..Superior GNR's CTAB free used invivo.. That is one of the really huge aspects of their GNR's .. Diagnostic Imaging.

I think today's webcast by the FDA  on nanotechnology is more than just coincidence. It will set the stage for quick approval of Sona's covid antigen test imho. Every day there are new articles about the need for antigen testing in multiple settings (community outbreaks, schools, sports and air travel). Actually the list is endless. And today we see a call for the FDA to speed up testing. I agree with findingmoney  that Sona will become the standard for covid screening/testing going forward, not only because of the 96% accuracy but also the tracking capability achieved through their partnership with Bond Digital Health.

Here is a excerpt from the FDA presentation info:

"Nanotechnology is the control of matter at the nanoscale, where unique phenomena and unusual properties enable novel applications. Nanomaterials are incorporated in many FDA regulated products, utilizing the unique advantages they offer, such as increased sensitivity of detection of biomarkers for early disease detection and diagnosis, generation of safer drug formulations and novel medical devices.”

I would not be too sure. Better not to get your hopes up to be disappointed later. I think that this a general look at the Nanotechnology Industry, albeit at a very interesting time, rather than Covid-19 orientated. SONA or their test will almost certainly not be mentioned although they will aware of developments.
What I think will be interesting is the relevance of what is said in general about the poential of Nanotechnology from which we wil be able to guage the possibilities and scale of SONA´S future development and the therapeutic areas into which they and their products will go.
