Curious why they released that news at the end of the day without a halt. Personally I think a Nasdaq listing is huge news. Could we be in store for a halt in the morning. With a sales agreement!!

It's more common to release news after hours so the market has time to digest the info before trading the next day. I don't see why there should be a halt tomorrow as an actual agreement with Nasdaq should take a while. The Nasdaq listing is good news as it will increase the market of investors for SONA.

After trading hours NR is fine. Many, if not most material NRs (eg quarterly financial releases) are done after trading hours. If the company or exchange thinks that major news could leak out or some people have unfair advantage, then they may do trading halt.

Your equity should grow. I'am also new to investing. But not doing my own taxes. Unless there has been VERY recent changes, you are free to trade and profit (or my technique, lose. Lol) on the NASDAQ and you are covered. Gotta love the TFSA!

I'm very sure that nothing negative will come from it IF and WHEN it happens. You are subject to a 15% tax on USA listed company dividends if I remember correctly, however, capital gains from share price appreciation is totally fine on all North American exchanges within your TFSA I believe. Cheers!
