Pepperoni222222here, By the timeline below. It is believed that Spartan went to NML after approval. Giving a timeline of approximately 1 month (April 13 – May 14) Stay long we are so close. Approval can happen any day!
On April 13, 2020 Spartan received Health Canada approval for its rapid, accurate and portable COVID-19 test.
Spartan was first advised on May 1st by Health Canada of the National Microbiology Laboratory’s (NML) concerns regarding the efficacy of the proprietary swab for Spartan’s COVID-19 testing product.
May 3, 2020 - Health Canada expressed concern and recalls the test.
May 14, 2020 - The National Microbiology Lab (NML) informed Spartan that our COVID-19 Cube System produces accurate analytical results when using contrived samples. The issue appears to be with the swab. When the swab was put into the back of a patient's throat or into their nose at NML, it wasn’t collecting enough sample material. After hearing this news, Spartan voluntarily recalled the distributed product and began working quickly on possible solutions.
