RE:Re Blizzy
This is almost always solved by posting a 'code of conduct' statement. Maybe there is one, but if it's decent, it's not being used. I have no problem kicking people off for:
1. Excessive foul language - swearing, crude, hostile, aggressive, sexual comments.
2. Pure Cheerleading/bashing - If it's just always "to the moon" or "this dog is going to zero" type comments, then there is no value add. I always ignore those types on this board.
3. Personal attacks - name calling and emotional outbursts. Again, no value add, and abusive. Kind of like when Blizzy kicked me off the Discord board with a simple "bye troll" comment in his 'personal message' to me. If you're going to kick someone off, at least have the decency to tell them why (which of the conduct rules they violated), stated or not.
4. Lying (misleading on purpose) - non facts disguised as facts and outright lies. A lot of alias types just say totally untrue things and present them as facts "CEO sold all his shares!: type stuff.
5. Clutter monsters - -If the majority of posts are about non-relevent things - pumping other companies, constant 'price posts' "going up to 12", "need that ".06", or completely random off topic things.
I think that would be a good start for a simple code of conduct, then if someone actually violates them, it can be pointed out and tied back to their posts and they get booted.
Anything else is just someone playing King Moderator and making random personal decisions.
And to your point, "negative" can be subjective in many cases. Pointing out concerns, "inconvenient truths', and stating fears may seem negative to some, or as 'a dose of reality' to others. If it's not a lie, then grow up. This isn't play money and people are taking risks. It's good to have a balance in the discussion. Being on a 'cheerleading only' board is a waste of my time and presents a false picture of the risk of the investment.
Thanks!
