no, he's not JUST about pumping stocks, he has a paid service that looks at opportunities in the O&G industry. He's had some big winners & some big losers, but by and large he offers some useful insights into companies you may have never heard of.
He also does paid stock promotion using his extensive email list as do almost all of the "newsletter" writers; sending out "free" updates. These free updates are worth exactly what you pay for them.
I assume that it must be very profitable for them since this sort of thing doesn't add much luster to their reputation...
