I am a Turkish Canadian, I know what's going on there well.
If I were American I'd be tempted to ask "why are we doing this"? "Nobody appreciates it, and often resent us" ??? Your "meh" is a common misconception of hugely inexplicably undervalued American generosity. There are an estimated 100,000 Turkish Canadians. Mostly in and around Toronto. I hope most of them appreciate the assistance from Canada, USA, Europe and noticed the great big nothing burger from China and Russia.
According to Al Jazeera, who are not a big USA propagandist fan,
As of February 18, Turkey said 102 countries had offered assistance, with at least 74 international rescue teams deployed.
Top aid has included $1.78bn from the World Bank, $185m from the United States, and $100m from the United Arab Emirates.
Let me point out 1) USA is also the largest contributor to the World Bank, by FAR.
2) The USA provided , again, by FAR, the most aid to turkey in cash PLUS mobilized rescue teams and supplies
3) Also according to Al Jazeera. The UAE was distant second highest, but huge considering the size of the country. P.S. They tend to favour UAE, Qatar , etc in their news coverage.
