No idle time! New oil and gas move from Turkey

A historic energy move is coming from Turkey. Turkey, which will intensify its searches, including the TRNC, will search for natural gas and oil in 100 wells.

2022-10-28 17:07:00 -

Continuing its efforts to deliver 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas discovered in the Black Sea to homes in the first quarter of next year, Turkey has also determined the roadmap for 2023's exploration and drilling activities. Accordingly, domestic and international exploration activities will be accelerated in order to meet the oil, natural gas and geothermal resource needs of the energy sector and the raw material needs of the industry. Within the scope of oil and natural gas exploration, drilling operations will be carried out in 100 wells in land areas and 2,500 square kilometers of three-dimensional seismic data will be collected with these explorations. Within the scope of the works on land, important works will also be carried out at sea. Oil and natural gas seismic exploration and drilling activities in the seas, including the TRNC's offshore license areas, will be intensified. The total number of offshore drillings to be carried out by the end of 2023 is 26' or will be removed. In this context, 14 offshore drilling will be carried out next year and 15,900 square kilometers of three-dimensional seismic data will be collected in offshore areas.

Investing abroad

Turkey will also carry out studies for raw material exploration abroad. In this context, suitable investment and production opportunities abroad will be determined by the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA). If possible, three separate projects will be carried out. On the other hand, work on mines will continue in the new year. The exploration of rare earth elements, boron and other metals with high economic potential will be given priority. 350 kilometers of exploration and research drilling for the supply of basic and critical mineral raw materials, 1,350 square kilometers of geological studies and 19.5 kilometers of drilling for geothermal resource exploration will be carried out. In addition, the development of domestic production in equipment used in energy and mining will be ensured. For this, an inventory of domestic equipment used in mining will be prepared.

Sweet info . Gracias. Patience pays and I believe NOV is going to be a huge month for TCF and as it gets colder Gas prices will start to rise. Cheers.
