11:44:56There was a discussion a few days back about the # of exchanges that are involved in farming out a buy or sell order.

A typical sell order occured at 11:44:56 today, whereby  a client using BMO sold 40,000 shares at the Market. To facilitate this order involved 4 exchanges. There is so much smoke and mirrors involved in trading and this is just one of them.
