Possible New Nickel Deposit Sale

Rumour is that they are asking for 1B (link below).

Western Areas' MC is up 18% to 900M in anticipation. Bodes well for CNC which has a larger deposit. Although I am wondering why these smaller deposits are going first. I thought the bigger fish would be grabbed first...
Do buyers boy want 10 year mines because they expect new tech to make nickel less needed?

The smaller fish are a quick easy grab right now RM. Big companies know about mines like CNC but they also want to allow CNC to prove themselves therefore derisking somewhat the project for the acquirer. But the acquirer also knows they will need to pay up for deposits like CNC. There's no point in them making an offer now. Unless it's much much higher than the price now. Which again doesn ...more

Hi Apapas, do you think that perhaps also Mark has been turning down some lowball offers? He may be set on establishing 2-4 huge deposits with a value of 1-1.5B Cdn EACH. Potentially this could be  3 to 4.5B dollar acquisition at some point in time. For reference that puts the share price at approx $45. Would I be dreaming to expect this?

In all honesty I wouldn't know but I would guess no way someone has approached. It'll never happen down here... As far as the price $45. Doable but I don't think it gets there because we'll be under another company well before then. IMHO

B.S. Papa.  You know a lot about the markets and junior mining and I respect that and read all your posts.  But this is b.s. and you know it.  The new Inflation Reduction Act is implimenting $7500 in rebates to EV vehicle purchases.  This should have caused CNC to skyrocket. It seems your fellow investors don't agree with your rosey outlook. BTW, I thought you weren't ...more

One other thing. If these mines are truly valued by govt's, you can bet the Canadian govt will be stepping in and looking over everyones shoulder before any deal is done. A deal has to make sense not only for the company and employees but also for the city of Timmins and for all Canadians. They're going to bring in a lot of revenue.
