definately rumours propelling the share price yesterday and not the gold price run. The stock started running an hour before the price of gold hit the gas pedal.

The dramatic increase in the POG certainly did not hurt as it pushed the share price of all miners higher.  I think the Fed has, however, only made the economic outlook much worse as lower rates will keep inflation elevated and the bubbles inflated.  And it will also mean that when the bubbles finally break, it will be far worse than had the Fed not caved.
