Lack of Volume or shares traded
Lack of Volume or shares tradedVolume tells us how many shares were traded during a day. When investor sentiment is bullish, we typically see higher volatility (price action) and higher volume.
When investors are disinteresed in trading a stock, volume falls off, often dramatically.
A good indicator to use to identify changes in volume is the (OBV) or On Balance Volume indicator. A change in volume always comes before a change in price.
For many trading sessions, the volume has been very low for TRST..
The average volume for TRST during the most recent 3 month period is 1,000,000 million traded.
Yesterday's, volume was 221,231. This means there was a lack of interest in trading the stock. Why? For obvious reasons....License suspension, no sales or revenue, cash burn, threat of stock being delisted from TSX and NYSE
Just for comparison, the number of shares traded for ACB yesterday--13,422,127 million...
This lack of interest in trading shares of TRST was reflected in the lack of price volatility: Yesterday, TRST shares traded in a tight range from $1.10 to $1.16.
Clearly, investors have a lack of enthusiasum for buying TRST. The only reason for volume seems to be day traders and shorters, and the ocassional investors who wants to role the dice and purchase the stock at this time..
