VCQ - is everyone feeling a bit in the dark, right now?
VCQ - is everyone feeling a bit in the dark, right now?I'm a little puzzled about VCQ, maybe someone here can help me understand it better. I understand it's a project, it has reps from CST, from the government, and from other businesses such as Total. I think I understand that the point of it is to demonstrate new, economically viable comercial uses for Co2. What I am failing to understand is the utter lack of information about this project being shared around the world at the moment, considering that the project is around halfway finished. Shouldn't this be a bigger deal by now? I.e. Step 1: Tell the world what we will do (DONE). Step 2: Show the world what we are doing (no details needed, just high level: Pictures, Open houses, Blogs, Videos). Step 3: Demonstrate the results to the world (To come?).
Is it me, or is the VCQ project team completely missing the boat on Step 2? This is change management 101. The team could apply a similar communication model that Google, Cosia, SpaceX and others use to have continual touchpoints with the world, and help everyone along with the change - i.e. the huge mental leap - that needs to happen before Carbon Capture and Carbon Reuse will be taken seriously.
