Environmentalist and Industrialist do not need to be mutually exclusive terms.

And as an ecologist with a PhD you should understand fully precisely why any person, environmentalist radical or not, might oppose this project.  There are myriad reasons to do not the least of which being the grand-daddy of them all, climate change.  Yes, it's a drop in the proverbial bucket... but every drop makes its mark and the reason of insignificant size could be used just as easily to justify Raven Coal as it can to condemn it.

That said, this coal mine will be a political decision at the end of the day.  Nothing more, nothing less.  And it might just be a heck of a fight.  We'll see what happens.
