Stopping Raven on the grounds of reducing our commitment to climate change and world CO2 emissions would be the most wise and long term position the government could make.  And it would be up to government to make that determination because it is not part of BCEAO or CEAA mandate.

The whole jobs argument is ridiculous when justifying this mine over anything else.  As bg2 said, we have many resources in this province that are being mined, or cut, and huge amounts of it are simply being exported away instead of being manufactured into something. Add jobs in clean energy and re designing our transportation infrastructure and there are thousands of jobs just waiting for us.   We just need politicians and business people with the vision and courage to do it.
