2guys.  Get your facts straight.

the petition was about using the railway.   It was signed by people both for and against the mine because all realize that no matter what, the most likely scenario is that the mine will happen, so if it does, it should go by rail.

The environmental process is supposed to recommend the best ways to complete a project.  That is what the petition attempted to do.

And before you get all high and mighty defending jobs (from your high rise 5000km away) do realize that there is great concern that 600 EXISTING, high paying, high value jobs in the shellfish industry are being put at risk by this mine.  Have you considered those in your investment decision 2guys?

there is also great concern for businesses in Port Alberni that will have to deal with the 40% increase in heavy truck traffic on city streets both practically an on their city taxes?  Have you considered those in your investment decision?

There is also concern that the reputation of Port Alberni as a city finally emerging from decades of downturn as new people move into town and it revives and businesses are flourishing that we will now be seen as a dirty coal port.  All for a whole 21 jobs guaranteed in the City?  Port Alberni residents likely will not be the ones working at the mine.

21 jobs 2guys.  You really think people are going to be all excited over 21 jobs? Would you invest in a company for 21 jobs when it threatens dozens of others?

As for my 'attitude'.  Forgive me if I dont believe a faceless stock trader from 5000km has any right whatsoever to determine what is best for an town or region.  Unlike Harper, you were not selected through a democratic election with local representation.  Your points about separation and the good of the country are laughable.
