I never said it wasn't in the report chrisale.

 

It's always been in the report, but the way you phrased it was misleading. 

 

Time to open my eyes?  chrisale, if my eyes weren't open, I would've believed you.  Thank God they're open.  atb

It's not misleading at all. The fact is the process plant is being set up for two modes.  Metallurgical Mode producing 88% SSCC and 12% middling and Thermal mode producing 100% high quality Thermal. What market conditions would dictate CEC selling 100% thermal coal instead of 88% Met and 12% Thermal that they have at Raven?   Are you expecting Thermal prices to outperform Met Coal/Semi-soft Met coal prices?    What do you think the possibility of this happening, moving forward chrisale?

How should I know? I'm not an economist or a coal miner.   How about you ask your buddies at CEC or theirconsultants at PAH and WM since their the ones that thought they'd better prepare the alternative case.

Met coal is far more scarce than thermal coal - think of it as higher quality coal.  That said, you don't have to be an economist: No company would ever process and sell all of their met coal as thermal because it makes no sense.  It's like selling your best mahogany for firewood instead of furniture.  Therefore, nobody is preparing for "the alternative case" ...more

Thank c0lmustard. I agree.  However, it would be inaccurate to say nobody is preparing for 'the alternative case' when the company has already specified that their process plant will be designed to be able to produce either the base 88/12 or the alternative100% thermal. I think we'll have to see.  My feeling is that we'll see Raven start to produce the metallurgical ...more
