why was John Tapics "elected" to Copper MOuntain Board?

why was John Tapics "elected" to Copper MOuntain Board? CEC stockholders who have stock in Copper Mountain might want to spread the word that newly elected to the Copper Mountain Board, John Topics, is not what he appears to be "on paper."  These guys appear to land on their feet while stockholders take the hit.  Board members can make up to $77,000. a year.
