No Rail No Coal Compromise?...

With a title like No Rail No Coal for a website, how is that even considered a means of compromising?

It's all about getting your way, or no way.  I've read quite a bit on you chris, only because you said I could google you, so I did.

You do know quite a bit, but the one thing you don't know is how to compromise.

Again, just watch and learn by the First Nations.  Watch and see.  They have a great history of coming to "reasonable" agreements.  They know how it works  You don't chris.  JM

It's just a title and a good url.  The people who signed, the media, and most importantly Mr. Tapics and the Government knew what it was about.   It's run its course now but it did serve its purpose which was to make people aware of the issue and register peoples preference for rail.  Which was loud and clear. Compromise is about give and take... in fact, that's exactly ...more

Actually, he is able to compromise.  At first he wanted to transport the coal by train so that we could also improve and/or revitalize our rail transport system.  He now thinks that the coal should not be mined at all. As to input from First Nations, I'd like to know how you come to your conclusion about their inevitable acceptance of Raven.  They also have a shellfish industry ...more

" Rail IS the compromise. Truck is simply unacceptable"   Is that right chris?  In that case, your 'compromise' is simply uncompromising.   You make lots of demands for rail and to further your own personal agenda for convenience and money and lowering your commute time.  You made this point quite specifically   You're not much different than any ...more

You are simply out of touch 2guys.  Anyone who disagrees with you gets attacked personally.  You seem to have no interest in Compliance doing the project in a better way only that Compliance be allowed to do it anyway they want.   Can you even conceive of a scenario where Compliance would not be allowed to proceed with their project?    Ya, no rail no coal its a pretty un ...more

I guess the truth hurts eh chris.   As for being out of touch, tell us which way is possible at present, the highway or the railway?   If the railway becomes available I would bet that Raven could easily transport their coal by rail because you're right, it's the better way.  It just isn't available is it, and the government for whatever reason isn't putting up the ...more

My view, 2guys, is that if Raven had a shred of integrity in its claims of bringing a prosperous community and doing the project in the best way possible then it would be Compliance lobbying the Government to repair the railway.  It would be Compliance jumping up to the plate to partner with the railway to get the job done. Instead, it's going to send 60 trucks a day through Cathedral ...more

And by the way, the fact you think I want rail because it will give me a commuter service to work simply shows how very little know (or are willing to admit knowing) about where this mine is doing business and the actual situation on Vancouver Island.

"I'm not taking anyones livelihood away 2guys. You can't take away what isn't there"   There you go again, chris.  That's what I mean about half truths, and misleading posts.   If you can't admit that what you are doing is detrimental to future jobs being made available to 100's of local applicants who have obviously shown interest in working at ...more

Wow 2guys. You must feel truly threatened by what I and others have to say to be so over the top. I encourage people to go to https://www.vifreightbyrail.ca themselves. There is no 'half truth' about it. Other companies building coal mines are hiring foreign workers.https://www.calgaryherald.com/news/metro/Coal+mine+temporary+workers+will+here+years/7388916/story.html "The ...more

Is the Raven in Northern BC chris?   I think that your long commute is blurring your perception of geography.  Do you also use your work time at VIU to post on this thread to further your agenda against coal mining?   I'm not threatened at all by reasonable conversation, but I do not like the stretching of the truth and the outright deception that you and your feces throwing ...more

LOL.  Do you seriously think the coal mines in Northern BC only looked in Northern BC for Canadian underground coal mine workers at Canadian wages?  This in a time when most People working in the oil sands come frame Atlantic Canada and BC? Earth to 2guys!

Ha ha ha, and he he he, don't make what you implied true chris.    I know you're not an uneducated fella, but you sure act that way at times.   What you implied is that Raven would be employing Chinese workers.  What makes you conclude that is what they'll do?    Did Mr. Tapics say he would?  Did CEC put that in their business plan?  Did you hear ...more
