Dang! A bit of a setback for CS investors. Maybe too big to fail but not so big as to ruin a lot of investors. No Bank of America comeback I guess. :(

Strange isn't it that the deal was structured so that Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries got some of their money back on their equity investment while the bond holders got completely wiped out?

Most bonds and debentures issued these days are unsecured and rank below/after  common shares in case of bankruptcy.

My apologies.  According to Goldman Sachs bondholders are usually rank ahead of common shareholders.  I was wrong.
