RE:RE:RE:Not good PR for Enercare
RE:RE:RE:Not good PR for EnercareI don't completely disagree with either of you, and I do believe that in general people need to take more responsibilty for reading the fine print and understanding contracts and what they sign up for.
That being said, I've been watching ECI ever since I sold this in the Fall a little around $20.50 I've owned it several times in the last few years and have generally done decently. I've been looking for a re-entry point but have held back, partly because I was worried about dividend payers in a rising interest rate environment but more because of anecdotal negative opinions about quality of service.
I had a huge run-in with Bell around Christmas re: service charges and more disrupted service and I blogged about it. As a musician with a decent sized following a long and widespread convo started on my FB page about Bell and Rogers poor service and a side convo started where numerous people compared Enercare to Bell in terms of poor service. I was surprised by how many people I knew were saying the same thing: Expensive contracts, poor service, etc. It gave me pause with regards to a company I had hitherto only heard positive comments on from financial analysts. I owned a condo so I could not speak about ECI from first hand knowledge.
I'm not here to bash Enercare. For the record I'm not currently a shareholder but have been following for months considering a re-entry. I read this board but haven't contributed anything since I last sold. But today's article struck a nerve, as i feel that even though the article I posted has holes, it re-enforces my belief that Enercare may have a customer relations issue. I have no idea if it will ultimately affect the bottom line, but it's helping keep me on the sidelines for now.
Best,
El Joro
