Update- Taylors' comments on cbx from his website
Cortex Business Solutions (CBX) axed its CEO in December and the senior Vice-President resigned last week, so the new CEO is not wasting any time cleaning house. I think these are positive moves, not because the departed executives aren’t talented folks but because they had lost the market’s confidence. Cortex is a turnaround story – not the business so much, because a firm growing revenue at 45% year-over-year is not doing poorly – but rather a market turnaround. I’m confident that there is TREMENDOUS value to be unlocked here. Here’s a telling analogy for Cortex today: Computer Modelling Group (CMG.TO) started out as a project at the University of Calgary, funded to the tune of $30 million by oil companies. It was then spun out into a public company and failed miserably at first, with the stock dropping 90% to 25 cents because not enough firms care about its product. CMG is a tech company related to the oil patch, like Cortex (although Cortex has other business opportunities). Had you bought CMG for 25 cents when everyone thought it was dead you’d be retired and living on a beach because, adjusted for splits, the stock today would be worth $180 and you’d have collected a long stream of dividends. I think Cortex COULD be one such opportunity. And what’s nice is that there’s lots of stock available so no worries about chasing it. It will take some time but great payoffs always do. BUY at 10 cents or less. Let the sellers come to you.
