RE: Vertical integrated model
RE: Vertical integrated modelMy perspective is that of a past retail owner operator of multiple stores. Product selection of the most popular - in demand items are what drives sales. Branding like Costco does is fine and well but it does not bring in the crowds by itself. The chances of finding and branding a product that will be unique is like finding a needle in a haystack, We should not be trying to re-invent the wheel here.
Most of the packaging, production, distribution and desirable product mix is already in place. It is in the illegal underground economy. We have to harnass this expertise and bring it out into the open. Our branded products are already out there and more are being developed every day.
I have been to licensed stores. High price and no selection. Unlicensed and supplied by the underground guys, all the selection in the world and lower prices. I tested some 40 mg gummy bears and they were great for pain.
I know someone high up in Starbucks. They are not just talking about offering cannabis, they are getting ready to launch a myrid of edible products when it is legalalized in October.
Offer the consumer the good stuff and they will be lining up to spend their money.
