Double Eagle Petroleum Company > Structure is huge!

Structure is huge!

The cross section and structure map of the Christmas Meadows Prospect will change with velocity control (well control). Correcting for a velocity pull-down below the overhanging thrust plate improves the potential of the shallow structure and/or structures (possible imbricate slices) located below the first major thrust fault. If you look at the cross section there is the possibility of hitting the Jurassic Nugget Sandstone below the first major thrust fault. It would be nice to have duplicated (imbricate) Nugget intervals within a high structure setting below the first major thrust fault. Correcting for a velocity pull-down from the Uinta Mountain Thrust (North flank thrust) potentially makes the deeper structure much larger with more closure. The structure closure (double plunging anticline) mapped with seismic data has been modeled with different velocities, and they can't make it go away no matter what model they use. See cross section and map in the link below. https://www.basicearth.net/utah.html

satchmo3........ I have been trying to post the cross section. How did you post the structure map? Can you post the cross section as well?
