I'm actually upbeat about Core Gold

I'm actually upbeat about Core GoldAll the writers' points here are well taken - it's extremely frustrating, the dearth of news for a long time now.  All the same, odd as it may seem, as of recent times I'm generally ok-ish about it, or at least managing ok.

After long periods without news ... we tend to get news.  The Q3 financials are due and so will come out.  We've awaited drill results for a long time, so they will have to come out, leaving aside for the moment that indeed they were expected/promised earlier.

But more important than that, based on how hard they worked to free Elipe, I figure Core are continuing to work hard in a strategic way now.  And the assets are there - at-surface deposits of high grade, easily mineable and processable, are truly rare in the world.  Ecuador is getting more and more attention - the true producers want in.

I know, we've heard that before, but it doesn't change the facts, the relative value of the company vs. comparables.  The market appears to agree - the price has traded in a pretty narrow range for a long time.  The company has had to operate on a shoestring, and not having the kind of investor relations that really takes care of a market for a stock has hurt.  Somehow I figure that as they gather some steam, that could (I hope) improve.

There are lots of pros and cons, acknowledged.  And some writers here have made a good point about opportunity cost - that we could have been well invested in other things in the meanwhile - and that's true for me too.  Ok, a bit painfaul, but water under the bridge for me.   My own feeling is that in reasonable time, i.e. months, we'll be rewarded.

So for myself I've made the choice to set my time horizon out a portion of a year - and whatever news we pick up in the meanwhile for me is then a bit of icing on the cake.

I'm not meaning to make light of the significant pain that a lot of investors have been through on this.  I twisted myself in a knot about it too.  But as well for me, it has seemed that getting upset or worried was taking too much out of me, to no good effect. If Core weren't actually producing gold, it would be a different story.

So of course I agree - I'm very much counting on not only some substantive news, but eventually some major moves forward.  That said, I've decided it's better for at least my own health for me to give it months and not days.  Not that I won't be looking for news every day anyway.

Your own mileage may vary, of course.

Wishing success to all -
