Arianne Starts Drilling on Massicotte/Detour Lake
SAGUENAY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug.26, 2008) - Arianne Resources Inc. (TSXVENTURE:DAR)(FRANKFURT:JE9)(OTCBB:DARUF) (Arianne) is pleased toannounce that drilling is starting on the Massicotte/Detour Lake,Abitibi, Quebec. This property is under option from Radisson MiningResources. The Massicotte property is adjacent to Detour GoldCorporation's (Detour Gold) property, for which it announced measuredand indicated resources of more than 10.76 million ounces of gold(press release of July 2, 2008). Inferred resources of 2.45 millionounces of gold have also been reported. The mineralization isintimately associated with the regional Sunday Lake Deformation Zone.
The Massicotte/Detour Lake property covers a total area of 24,774hectares in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt in northwesternQuebec. It includes a favourable horizon more than 20 km long along theSunday Lake Deformation Zone in Quebec, immediately east of DetourGold's property. A 15-km section of the regional gold-bearingMassicotte Fault also crosses the southern portion of the property (seehttps://www.arianne-inc.com/en/project_detail.php?id_proj=31)
The airborne diamond drilling program has a $500,000 budget. Theprogram has been designed to test geophysical and geochemical anomalieslocated in sectors highly prospective for gold and base metalmineralization. It will also investigate the extensions of the Lynx andLap-3 gold zones, where respective historical grades of 7.8 g/t Au over7.2 m and 24.1 g/t Au over 2.4 m were intersected by drilling.
