DNA.to vs AVK.to

I like DNA and held shares as of this morning.  I compared Dalradian to Avnel (AVK) and found these things in Avnel's favour:
-Market cap $183m for DNA and $73m for AVK - Avnel has much more room to move upwards
-Capex - $249 million for DNA and just $147 million for AVK, and even lower costs to get into production really for AVK because they'll use hydraulic mining to process the tailings during production which should give at least $50 million dollars in revenue back towards production costs
-Ounces per year - similar numbers - Avnel will hit 200,000 oz in year 3 and will average 135,000 ounces for first 6 years
-Easier permitting on the Avnel property - the community is already working there and are more supportive.  Some of the residences have to move and this process is well along and going well.
-Avnel's catalysts are in this first quarter whereas Dalradian's catalysts aren't until the 2nd quarter.
So I've just put my money into AVK and after I've made my money, maybe I'll move it back to DNA hoping to make money off of the catalyst of both projects.  That's my strategy - let's see how it goes.

I own DNA and AVK. No need to own one or the other. Why not own both and mitigate the risk. In fact, I own about 20 different gold stocks.

I for one am always open to hearing about promising mines so I appreciate any suggestions, but I am not sure that I would advocate to replace one mining company with another because of catalysts opportunity especially when one of the mining companies is in West Africa. I minimize my investments there, I have B2Gold, because of the amount of potential for fruad and country risk.  You see, I ...more

Yes, the quarter is almost over - Avnel's DFS will be out within 2 weeks.  Great opportunity.  That being said, I've been buying DNA today also because of the pullback.

I hear good things about DNA. Great people and project. Not a fan of the share outstanding number though. A lot the juniors I'm invested in have done very well recently like DNA. Is this still a bargain at 90? It was in the mid 60s just 7 weeks or so back. I've got a bit of money now to recommit after having booked some profits. Thanks

Agree, AVK is going to be the big mover here. I think good things are coming soon. but them good things are already happing. And more to COME.

I've been watching the DNA board and the AVK board for a long time and there is an entity in both cases trying to push the prices down.  With so many things up today, both DNA and AVK are like a coiled spring in my opinion.  DNA because of #27 selling and AVK because of #7 selling.  I believe someone preparing is for a buyout of AVK.  What we're waiting for with DNA is ...more

I am not clear on what you mean by holding them down, I assume that someone has large blocks up for sale. But, I think DNA is going to have to have a major news release which may be forthcoming after the infill program is completed. The idea is to get 3.5 Moz moved to the Measured and Indicated category which will have a significant impact on the feasibility study and a major impact on the stock ...more

With AVK, after watching so long and seeing exactly what they're doing, I am very confident that a buyout is coming.  With DNA, it just looks to me like #27 is doing some stupid fund selling.  I've seen that happen from #27 from time to time where they need to get out of a position and they sell, temporarily holding the price down.   As for me, I've been selling other ...more
