With the

change in the capital gains for small businesses n personal trading accounts. I think ur going to see alot of selling pressure, so as to avoid the extra 16.67% tax starting on June 25th. I plan to sell and reset before that date in all my green stocks along with all my red stocks. The Grits are going to get a bit of bump up in the tax revenue department, but you can bet your sweet bippy the cash is already spent!!! jmo UNKLAL

You only pay more tax if your capital gain is more than $250K.   Not a problem as an E3 investor.  LOL.

For individuals who make $250K in a year of capital gains, it should be easy to avoid that using the strategy you have stated here. That being said, if you are selling and bumping yourself into the next tax bracket, that does not make sense. I think if your making $250k (or near that) your likely in the top bracket anyways when counting all worldwide income. You can't move money offshore if ...more

I know this isn’t a political forum but seeing everybody weight in on the budget. My take for the last long while is that JT is a socialite, way out of his wheelhouse. Any screwups over the last 8 yrs would just be swept under the rug because he is who his and not feel as if he owed anybody anything. He is so far left that he has actually left the nest. I suspect it will be a HARD RIGHT in 2025 to course correct the 10 years of JT drama class. There will be medium term pain for long term gain required to restore. My fear is that Canadians will vote out Conservative Gov who are trying to correct things and put the Liberals back, further resulting in debt. JT makes his father look better every day.  The Federal debt now costs over a $billion per week just in interest payments.  Interesting article today in the National Post talking about foreign investment leaving the country.
