Is anyone who reads this Bullboard enough of an EPL historian to know how many times in past the company has given a "dividend" in the form of shares?

And does anyone care to speculate in future how often it may occur again?

5 since I've been investing with them, including this one.  Next question, well my crystal ball broke, but based on past results expect a div every 3 to 4 years.

Won't the Epl royalties spinout be a spinoff that keeps on giving in the form of regular dividends derived from their royalty portfolio? I'm trying to get a handle on the best way to add to my position. Obviously, the best way would have been to buy as much as possbile before this weeknd, since you would get one free share of the royaly business for every EGPLF share you owned, but now

Hi diggin, first of all the spin out is 1 Royalty share for every 3 EPL shares owned at record date, not 1 for 1. Secondly when a spin out like this happens it's always hard to quantify a price of both entities after everything has been approved and shares issued. Personally to help me justify my large holdings I look at what I think the Royalty company will be worth. Then look at EPL's

Thanks Ninelives. I appreciate the perspective. I was aware of the 3:1 ratio. That's why I suggested the royalty shares might trade 3 times higher than egplf once they're created but that may not make complete sense. With the news today, the royalty company is looking even better, as is the original company. Wish I'd bought more Friday!

“ all Eagle Plains shareholders who hold Eagle Plains shares as at the effective date of the Spin-Out Transaction will be eligible to receive one-third (1/3) of a share of Eagle Royalties for each Eagle Plains share so held. Subject to obtaining requisite approvals for the Spin-Out Transaction, the effective date of the Spin-Out Transaction is expected to be in or around late April, 2023
