Emblem Corp > Anyone know if the greenhouse construction has commenced?

Anyone know if the greenhouse construction has commenced?

The shareholder letter that came out 7 weeks ago said construction would commence in 4-6 weeks. Anyone know if it has commenced or know if the permit has been issued? I recall someone posting a Brant County permit lookup website but I can find that site. I’m beginning to wonder if they have other plans up their sleeves.

Yeah, that is what I was getting at. This greenhouse thing always smelled fishy to me. The cost of the project never made any sense, the estimated cost is about 3x what it should be based on other comparable projects. The total lack of urgency of getting the thing built also is perplexing. The board approved this greenhouse plan in mid-October, almost 6 months later they haven’t even broken ground ...more

Its pathetic that nobody has any idea what this company is up to. Abandoned greenhouses and pivoting rec plans... This has red flags written all over it. I doubt this will fall much more than this simply due to cash on hand and license value... however, it definitely doesn't seem like this is going north any time soon. If emblem started securing wholesale supply deals from other LPs I'd ...more

Your article has nothing to do with the green-house constructionthis. This is the second time you are trying to pump your interest on this board.  Not interested.

good discussion on twitter diminis . This leads me to the topic we had last week regarding ICC mentioning  the MOU they have with EMC. gkmack stated that we needed some clarification about importing from Uruguay and you stated that we need a Licensed Dealers license for it to happen. As this was my thoughts, I contacted EMC and asked them if they can throw some light on the subject. Still ...more

May I know your positions in EMC?

Don't exactly know why you should ask that question . I am a retired person and an investor (small scale). I have some shares with EMC & that's it.

If importing ends up being a dead end they have domestic options available. Max liked the below  tweet from a Winnipeg farmer the other day. I think these guys are making very good long term decisions but it is maddening having to speculate what they are up to. Investor comms have improved dramatically but I still think they are holding back. Hopefully it is just because they are waiting ...more

Where in the hell have they pushed the idea of not being a grower? Thats what they do. The major sector of their company is founded on producing medical cannabis.

Um, have you looked at their investor deck lately? Or read the tweet linked to below? Or seen commentary from Nick’s presentation at the GMP investor conference? They are clearly sending the message that growing is a dead end business. Yes, their company was founded on growing but successful companies evolve or die. Just ask Blockbuster.

Looks like Pure Sunfarms is a good candidate as a supplier to Emblem: https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/village-farms-international-announces-pure-sunfarms-cannabis-supply-agreement-with-emerald-health-therapeutics-681220581.html

We had Alcohol investing around 10% in WEED but this looks very much like Agriculture taking out EMH on June 6th.

I don't think VFF has any plans to buyout Emerald. It's not even possible given that they only have 7M of cash and their market cap is on;y 1/3 of Emerald's. I think the benefit of the JV with Emerald is that they are getting Emerald to pay all the costs of retrofitting their greenhouse (a big deal considering how litle cash and apparent access to capital they have) getting fast ...more

I think this guy will be selling for less than $2/gram next year. Outdoor is a game changer: https://mobile.twitter.com/breeder_steve/status/995025976089239552

deminimis:-  Hemp is a tall plant but still have to battle with weed for the growing period. On the face of it, a $2/gram sounds a very attractable investment. When I was watching his tweets a few days ago, I saw a photo of "rolled up turfgrass " lay there on bare cleared dirt of the field which looked very presenting. Upon closer look at the dirt, I recoganized remanents of the ...more

Not under construction yet. Building permits have not even been submitted to the township for approval.
Comment by deminimis on May 14, 2018 1:17pm
How do you know that they haven’t applied for a permit? If true that would confirm my suspicion that they aren’t going to build it.

Yep, this is what they told me today: We are very active on our production expansion initiatives and other significant areas as you know.  In order to avoid selective disclosure we look forward to providing details on this and other exciting corporate developments in a public update as part of our upcoming Q1 operating results press release slated for May 29.

Why does he think he'll be allowed to grow outdoor?
Comment by deminimis on May 13, 2018 1:25pm
Because it will be allowed under the new cannabis bill. It is way cheaper that indoor. You can get growing costs down below 50 cents a gram with very minimal capital investment. Compare that to $1 a gram production costs with $100+ Million in capital investment. Obviously it wouldn’t be very good product for the dried flower market but perfect for value add products which are estimated to make up ...more
