I think your post was excellent. I can picture your scenario as a real possibility, although I'm not sure collusion is the right descriptor for their interest in Orbite's process. To me the term collusion sounds nefarious and unscrupulous. I think Orbite's process will benefit them all, so I would be inclined to use a term like "cooperation in the aluminium industry" when referring to the industry adopting the new process.
