Is the Internet killing the stock market compared to years gone by,I don't think so,but it makes we wonder sometimes.
In the old days,we just bought into low volume and sold into high volume
All we had was the Northern Miner[Northern Miner weekly paper and hand book,that is still arond today and published.The globe&mail to help us in our research and they use to carry a lot on penny stocks,,not now.The Globe& Mail I do not use any more plus the miner,as all is on-line web sites plus and the best guru Canada we had at that time was the author of MiningTheMarket,Morris I Bubbis who sadly passed in the 90's but he taught me how to manage the mine field of the do's and don't's
You had the boiler room guy's and radio[they even had a radio station for just the stock market and many lost there money as they just could not get enough of a good thing and the sheep were shorn] and tv media, news papers,news letters doing the scamming in a smaller scale than this new age scammers do now.
Fraud was there then and will always be there.Take those email scammers,that will be glad to give you a million or two for you if you just give me your bank account number.
Today you have the day traders,80% Broker controlling,computer automatic trading, bulletin board poster's ,levell ll,careful with this one as it's not what it seems,and Facebook,twitter, stock pushers and spammer's of all kinds wanting you hard earned cash,to name a few all trying to make a buck or two.
The whole system could go down as everything is being control by computers or hackers.
Manipulation is also a factor that you must be aware of.
Can you still win at this game,yes you can but you better do your home work and stay away from all the barrage of incorrect info as it's like a mine field out there.
If you had tracked most of these expert,you would see most have been wrong.
Always ask your self,,self why would they want to share that info?
