Well I guess you just couldn't let sleeping dogs lie, could you sr71loki? I figured I had done my part to bring some balance to the hype being tossed around on this board by raising some appropriate thoughts and letting individuals decide for themselves. I have to admit that it was a waste of time - with rare exception, this board's only interest is in listening to cheerleaders.
But alas, you chose to stir things up again. OK then, let me share the fullness of the thoughts I had shared privately with some, but had preferred not to spell out for the board.
1 - we knew that Rogers customers had been complaining about the new interface (i.e. Navigatr) since last July.
2 - the revelation in Espial's Q2 report in October about a cancelled contract was a total shock to everyone and resulted in the stock tanking. Obviously, if the undisclosed N.A. customer (i.e. Rogers) could cancel an aspect of their contract, then why couldn't the European ones cancel theirs?
3 - complaints about the Rogers/Espial Navigatr product were rife and continue to this day. The following was posted just yesterday on the Rogers Community forum (message #1832) and given what I have seen of Navigatr, reflects a pretty believable summary of what has happened:
...My surmise on what's happened is that Rogers was totally asleep at the switch and got duped by Espial into committing to a product that well over-promised and hugely under-delivers. And now they are stuck with a hugely embarrassing business blunder and lots of egg on their face, but have no clue what to do about it (in the short term at least). So they dabble a bit here and there at the edges and they stonewall until most of us either quit complaining or just "get used to it".
4 - if TeleColumbus has half a clue, they will have tied their project/contract milestones to the success of the Rogers 'experience'. Of course I don't know but in the absence of anything else, perhaps this explains why their project scheduled for Q4/15 has yet to be implemented, in spite of the fact that we are now in Q2/16. Espial shareholders should hope that TeleColumbus is delivered something much better than Navigatr, or that unlike Rogers, TC customers didn't have much of an interface in the first place.
So there, you now have what you asked for, sr71loki - all without any childish name-calling. The ball is now in your capable hands.
