Word is out that FFH. owns gazzilions of blackberry shares.

Better than that, Bloomberg had it on the front page. As of Tuesday FFH would have a gain of $1.2 billion on BB shares... hopefully Prem cashed out at least some. Quick math shows that BB gain is about $44/share... in cash. If they sold it all of course.

They can't sell for 6 month from the convertible buy last year.... I don't think Prem cares.  He is on the board, looking long term at BB.

I wouldn't rule out a sale or short of FFH's Blackberry shares.  They own 100 milion shares if fully converted, which could be worth $2.6 billion CAD at $20 USD per share. Also note the recent insider sale (from the FFH board member and capital markets advisor S. Burton) for $500K+ of BB shares earlier this week.   Looking forward to hearing their stance on the BB position. ...more

If they didn't sell their shares then Prem needs his head examined.   They been holding BB dud for years. Once in a billion moon shot comes their way.  Should of dumped the Max. He can always re buy at $9.00 because that's likely where it will go again.

FFH needs to ask themselves what supporting BB means. FFH has been around to loan money to BB as required to ensure operations continue and look at opportunities for growth. Being around to offer debt solutions is how to best support BB through all this. The best way that FFH could support BB is by using this unicorn event to liquidate all holdings, egenrate a tonne of cash, and offer a larger sum ...more
