Duxing is correct.  Not only is that a small percentage, but all these recent purchases are non-voting.  The record date was in November.  Anyone who purchased shares now do so because they see the value at these prices, not because it gives them a vote.

ACB purchased those shares in order to reduce the number of voting shares thus increase the percentage of the 38% locked-in shares.

Or to say themselves some money when the merger comes in well over $24.00.

Owners on record as of November could still vote with their proxy number. New owners such as ACB could not.  The proxy votes ended January 19th.  Large holders registered directly (not via brokers) can vote as they are registered directly with the company on the meeting date Thursday. If there is a friendly merger, Management will lobby for approval and explain the reasoning.  If ...more
