Who doesn't want a bidding war?  However, don't you think others had a chance to bid early too?

I loves me a good bidding war, went through a few in my time, always fun. As for others bidding early - I honestly think nobody figured it would be this early.  I think most folks figured no takeover attempts till at least the maiden resource estimate which is months away.  The way the NR was worded however it sounded amicable and like a done deal.  Barrick would have to come in

It's bittersweet.  On the one hand who doesn't want more and on the other a very tidy offer considering the MRE hasn't yet been released.

No or it would have stated so.  Besides, the whole point of spinning out the GBRR was to cover exactly this.  GBRR holders like us continue to see benefit long after the takeover in the form of royalties.   Look for a serious urge in GBRR tomorrow morning as well.

I think that the team has provided enough transparency that every major already has done the equivalent of an MRE for themselves.  I expect Barrick to counter within a few days, maybe Newmont too.  Enjoy the ride.
