It's pretty grim.
I like the line, "How did they live through all that?" (or something like that).
It occurs to me that hundreds of millions of them didn't, but the point's well taken. Our parents and grandparents were called to war. We're being called to sit on our couches... and apparently, at least here in the States, we're mostly failing at that.
