I don't get it...

Why wouldn't you take the 10.30 offer? HBC was dying before the offer came in. Yes the real estate is worth something but when it is tied to an obsolete business model and continuously dragging it lower would you not want to take some money and invest it elsewhere? I am thinking of buying in and voting YES!

Do you honestly think that would make a diff? Try looking at prior and current RE valuations.

HBC is the author of this  mess.  It bragged forever that investors should feel confident because of how much the real estate was worth.  So, when the offer was  announced, lots of retail and institutional investors bought above the offer price.  After all, almost every asessment had the realestate/company  valued in the $30's plus.  Sandpiper even saw a path ...more

I'm certain the shaddy Spinelli evaluator from CBRE was guided in his appraisal with subjective criterias selected by Baker/The Special Committee... Every appraisal on their properties were made by Wakefeild/Cusheman... Expect for CBRE? Why is that? If real estate in Manhattan was genuienly down 50%... Then the entire block/city would be down just the same... And there would have been ...more
