"PetroSA wants to form a joint venture (JV) with ENH to woo potential gas clients in energy-starved South Africa, and intends replicating the JV model at Mossel Bay to trade gas from offshore fields discovered by TotalEnergies to the Cape market.

"At Mossel Bay we will be looking at potentially two different JVs, one with Total for Brulpadda (field) and then another JV is for the Block 9 development, but the main entity that will trade gas for the group is PetroSA Gas Trading," Sesakho Magadla, chief operating officer at PetroSA, told Reuters."

"Eardley-Taylor contrasted this with the LNG to baseload GtP LCOE expectations. He added that, if the 11B and 12B discoveries – otherwise known as Luiperd and Brulpadda – could be developed, they would pay tax to South Africa on gas earnings, which would see the baseload LCOE reduce further down to about R1.10/kWh.

1.25$ is a fair value for boe in the ground while project is stuck due to regulations and political complications, the value of a boe that is fdp/fid in such an economic, fast track, tie in to existing infrastructure is 4$ a boe min'. The gap will close as the project advances. Beginning with inking the new bill, to commercial agreemenrs and fid. Other prospects are the bonus.

Btw, what comments by aoi are you talking about?
Comment by Ebenizer3 on May 05, 2024 10:46am
the comments they made about divorcing AFE and Eco

Not only them, they eill exit or consolidateeach of their investees but they will not give up on upsides like the purchase of another 8% of impact, so once ghis project advanced they will wait for a sell out or invest more to fund the fast track development. I think people under estimate the value of this project, a direct tie in to existing lng plants makes the economics of this project a world ...more
