DealWell, this deal was ready well before the present announcement, it would have been consolidated into the newco if shareholders had not reacted. This tells us management was willing to pocket the entire mine to their account. Even though this is significant news for the company, I still do not trust the present management to deliver. It would be beneficial for all shareholders to hear a sincere mea culpa/explanation for why this spin-in was considered and a complete business plan regarding their operations going forward.
