Why would the do this?Are you serious with this question?Because the write down is, or at least was, an ideal way for Severstahl to keep the share price low.The Q3 numbers didn't need to be audited so no approval was necessary and it was a perfect cover for the massive profits that otherwise would have shown up.Q3 had a 4 million loss WITH the write-down of Prognoz for an amount of 59 million,

I hate feeding a troll with a response, but I have to respond to this. Yes, Prognoz was written down - in the past. However, Severstal has Prognoz in their own FS's, so I am pretty sure it is not being written down again. Also, it's against GAAP to write something like Prognoz down and I am pretty sure KPMG wouldn't allow it or else they would threaten to give a qualified opinion which

I have around 47k (big $$$ for me)waiting for a $1.50 min.
