Another Assessment

Intact is an industry leader in the Canadian property and casualty insurance industry, and its share price has grown at a five-year CAGR of 14%. IFC pays a nice yield of 2.0%, operates in a largely non-cyclical industry with recession-resistant characteristics, has good historical sales and net income growth rates, a healthy balance sheet and a reasonable valuation. We think that IFC will continue to perform well and appreciate in line with its historical rates.

There are a few competitors to IFC, being TRV, and DFY, but IFC continues to be the industry leader. (5iResearch)
