Imperial has a zero role in the potential takeover of NCM by Newport - III is completely passive. It's only potential indirect role is if NCM, very soon, decides to buy out III's 30% interest in Big Red which is growing into a hugely valuable gold/copper asset in a stable country like Canada (unlike the troubles First Quantum is facing in Panama). This could help sweeten Newmont's bid ...more

...and I certainly wasn't implying that BK would have any direct role - God help us. Both your points are well made: S.Am & Africa run second to NCM's properties in Oz & CAD.  With luck our "Independent" Directors are making the case already with ME in rgds to a deal that might be possible for us all......
