Imperial has a zero role in the potential takeover of NCM by Newport - III is completely passive. It's only potential indirect role is if NCM, very soon, decides to buy out III's 30% interest in Big Red which is growing into a hugely valuable gold/copper asset in a stable country like Canada (unlike the troubles First Quantum is facing in Panama). This could help sweeten Newmont's bid
