Is it being noticed

When the 2/10 spread was around 4  points, the word was that it was indicative of a not too distant recession. It's been hovering between 3.5 and 4 for what seems like eons.
Now, all of a sudden, it has crept up to 5.
I've pretty much given up on what anything portends for the indexes, the precious metals, commodities,
etc., or the economy for that matter.
Whatever the daily spin from the 'experts' is, seems to determine what happens to financial markets.
If indeed the inverse theory holds water, it would seem that something is about to happen.
Of course many investors heed the advice to sell in May and go away. I suspect when those that do are done with the summer getaways, things may look a little different.
