Does anyone know why gold crashed beginning at 4:00 A.M. EST overnight? Looks as if silver and copper were in on the action.

Some investors knew or anticapated the job numbers would  beat estimates is my guess.

How could anyone know precisely four and a half hours prior if the info had not yet been made public. Smells fishy. Gold doesn't go down 50 bucks in a relative heartbeat because somebody has a hunch. Skylar1, you raise a good question when you suggest that some investors may have known. IMO, the ones in the know could well have been members of our illustrious U.S. congress. There was a report out at that time that showed China made zero net purchases of gold in May.  The jobs report just added to the negativity.
