i am a novice investor, profitable, but novice.

i dont know how i came to this stock, but i bought it and it went up.  i held it for a few months and watched it daily.  up until the recent drop, it traded very "weirdly".  in the run up, it always opened high, then came down.  as if someone wanted in really bad and kept buying daily, slowly.  day traders may have shorted or w/e to make daily gains.  but it kept happening.  i think something was up, something fishy.

does anyone know what the reasons could have been for the run up?  i can assume that the sell off was people taking their gains.  but y the run up?
