I posted a couple of messages today regarding the copper resource value, (about $0.02 per pound) that First Quantum’s offer represents. I also gave a comparison, (Las Bambas mine in Peru, sold with a copper resource value of about $0.10 per pound). Between the time the Las Bambas mine was first offered for sale and the recent sale, there were 3 Chinese groups and 1 North American group highly interested in buying the mine. Three of those groups are still possibly in the market – Said groups are in need of resources for their companies and/or understand the future value and/or future need for copper resources.
