RE:RE:Interesting Report on Technology in the Classroom
RE:RE:Interesting Report on Technology in the ClassroomFully agree with the advantages of the classroom and the Canadian brand. No argument there.
But, there are schools popping up that seek to replicate the experience of being in the country. One in China for example teaches kids hockey, Canadian football and ultimate frisbee. The teachers are all top level athletes. They eat KD for lunch, make their own sannies, etc. Small class sizes and English only policies.
Plus, look at the cost. Between tuition, room & board, flights, etc, it will cost a student $10,000 for six months of ESL study. Pretty expensive. An on line course would cost 1/10th of that.
My point is that the nature of the industry is changing and technology will have a signifant impact on the way ESL is delivered. Keep in mind that Canada isn't the only game in town and other English speaking countries have much more government support in attracting students.
It really has little to do with LOY strategy
