Canada: path to citizenship eased for international students

Canada’s newly elected Liberal government has announced changes to the country’s path to citizenship which will reduce stay requirements and allow international students to count study time towards residency petitions.

"Changes such as this will further boost Canada’s image as an open and welcoming country for international students"

Under Bill C-6 international students will be able to count 50% of their time towards the physical residency requirement and will need to reside three of the previous five years in the country.

Much like the link here: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35744566 There is no link between the path to citizenship in this article and KGIC. Students seeking citizenship are at large public universities and from countries that they would like to leave. KGIC students are from wealthy countries and can afford to come here to study and return home to a comfy life with family and friends. But hey, maybe ...more

Sometimes, other people think bigger and see further ahead. However, I would never underestimate the brilliance on this board especially the nuggets coming  from V.MBA/Toby disciples--Lolololol. the circle of Banx. Avoid directly admitting your lack of knowledge but when shown to be uninformed, retreat to the default position of 'its a risk/reward play'. This does not excuse your willful ignorance of the industry and the spreading of half-baked platitudes and irrelevant information. Pump away but some of us will always respond with a more informed take.
