L and L Clean Coal

From L and L May 6 new release:

“The Beijing headquarters also houses L&L’s recently established subsidiary, Beijing L&L Jiang Energy Technology Co. With the help of L&L Advisory Board member Dr. Che Ming Dao, an Ohio State University graduate and clean energy expert, L&L Beijing and Apollo Technology Inc. of Taiwan will jointly initiate projects to control coal emissions and remove environmental pollutants such as sulfur, nitrogen and mercury in China.”

This is interesting given the immediate need to emissions reductions in China and the large scale  efforts and money they are pouring into clean coal technology.  Ohio State University might have developed the most advanced technology to burning clean coal.

Certainly this is good PR for L and L to be involved in clean coal efforts, but could government funding for this possibly be a source of income for L and L?

The opportunity for L&L is not government funding but utilizing its contacts with end users - utilities - who in turn would contract with the jv to incorporate clean coal technology on site. Also shows the co. is  thinking far more ...more

They are already in the prepping mode as part of their wholesale/distribution effort. I believe they are upgrading their washing capabilities in order to deliver a uniform quality to the utilities. Do not know what progress they have made upgading. My understanding is they expect a greater contribution from this segment as winter approaches. The real opportunity is not disposal but incorporating ...more

Much appreciated OAITW. Perhaps anthracite is in greater abundance up north and hence one of their reasons to move up that way?>

DC, Your skepticism is well understood; we have both been here a looong time. But this jv seems very different than say the jv's within the province. I like that they partnered with another Chinese (Taiwan) firm. Also, that they are headquartered in the center of all the action. Previous pr's made reference to their end user contacts but they have been restrained from monetizing those ...more
