Interesting indeed!  How is she giving PGM 100% of her time and effort if she is also chairing a gold miner that is 5x the size of PGM? The good thing is that IAMGold is sitting nice and plump with $800MM cash on hand - though most of that money is earmarked for the Cote Project. Could it be that they snatch PGM from Anglo? Or is Anglo looking for a three-way tie up? So many possibilities.

This is bad news guys. Belanger is ditching pure gold! She is the chair of the board at IAMGold now... Probably the red lake grades are still low and no obvious way to offset the current costs.

I really don't think that this is bad news. Many mining execs are on several different company boards. It does not take up much time, they're not involved in the day to day operations.

There are only two outcomes in terms of Maryse Belanger... sticks around PGM or takes off for greener pastures. IAMGold has a lot going for it... 3 operating mines and 1 super project Cote. Why bother lugging it out at Pure Gold when you can be the shot collar at IAM? And, if IAM were to merge with another mid-tier producer, the head honcho there as wel.
